The
Flooded Desert -
Into
the parched Kalahari Desert a great African river comes
to a remarkable end, far from the sea. This extraordinary
meeting of water and sand gives birth to a pristine wilderness,
the Okavango River Delta. Its crystalline waters teem with
life, its skies ring with the cries of eagles, and its verdant
plains thunder with spectacular herds of buffalo and the
lions that follow them.
When
monumental fires break out in the Delta, an elemental battle
erupts between fire and water; and many of the creatures
of the Kalahari face their greatest challenge yet.
